  • Jessica Dennis-President

    Dr. Jessica Dennis is a Licensed Professional Counselor and approved clinical supervisor for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Dr. Dennis may be from the cold city of Buffalo, NY but her heart resides in Richmond, Virginia as she has been a “Virginian” for over 24 years. Dr. Dennis obtained her bachelor’s in human services from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Her master’s in a dual School Counseling and Community Mental Health Counseling program from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

    Dr. Dennis completed her Doctor of Psychology degree from California Southern University with a specialty in clinical psychology. Dr. Dennis has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years with an emphasis on crisis work. Dr. Dennis has received awards for her facilitation of the first three-day Advanced Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) course for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

    Dr. Dennis has been trained in several crisis intervention training from the State Police, Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and more. Dr. Dennis has worked in the capacity of crisis clinician, crisis supervisor, CIT coordinator, mandatory outpatient coordinator, involuntary commitment court liaison, clinical manager, and currently the Assistant Director over a community mental health agency servicing mental health, substance use, and developmental disability services.

  • Angelica Wilson-Secretary

    Angelica Wilson is a passionate and dedicated social services professional with years of experience working with diverse populations. She takes a compassionate, client-centered approach to every role she takes on. She is always striving to support individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments.

    She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Norfolk State University and has built a strong foundation in mental health and child welfare. Her background includes serving as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), where she has provided strength-based and supportive therapeutic interventions to adults with co-occurring disorders, as well as at-risk youth. She has also worked as an adoption worker for the City of Norfolk, helping children and families navigate the adoption journey with empathy, guidance, and care.

    Over the years, Angelica has gained valuable knowledge and insight that continue to shape her work. She is committed to promoting resilience, healing, and empowerment within the communities she serve.

    When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, exploring new hobbies, and staying connected to causes that matters most to her.

  • Jasmine Benford-Board Member

    Jasmine Benford has dedicated her life to pursuing her passions, all of which are  rooted in a deep desire to help others. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal  Justice and a Master of Public Administration from Old Dominion University, as  well as a Master’s in Public Health from Liberty University. 

    As a District Manager for The Community Builders, Inc., a nonprofit affordable  housing developer, Jasmine leads a team across low-income multifamily  communities in Virginia and Washington, D.C. Her work ensures that stable  housing serves as a foundation for residents and neighborhoods to thrive. Through  youth development, violence reduction, education, workforce development, asset  building, and health and wellness initiatives, she connects residents with  community resources, forges partnerships with local organizations, and provides  individual and family coaching. Jasmine has proudly served The Community  Builders, Inc. for a decade. 

    Beyond her nonprofit leadership, Jasmine is a real estate investor and a licensed  Virginia real estate agent, passionate about educating others on homeownership  and wealth-building opportunities. She entered the real estate industry in 2017 with  the purchase of her first rental property and is a certified Virginia Housing  Development Authority (VHDA) trainer, teaching homebuyer education classes to  equip individuals with knowledge about the homebuying process and available  assistance programs. She also helps clients overcome credit challenges, ensuring  they can take advantage of the opportunities ahead. With a positive outlook on life  and a love for sharing knowledge, she has earned the nickname “Just Ask Jazz.” 

    When she’s not working, serving at church, or hitting the gym, Jasmine enjoys  spending quality time with her beloved nieces, Penelope and Pria.

  • Brittany Primmer-Treasurer

    Brittany Primmer is a Navy Veteran, a Virginia Licensed Cosmetologist and Instructor. She serves as Treasurer for Purple Service Announcement, bringing a strong background in business ownership, financial management, and community-focused leadership.

    Witha Bachelor's degree in Workforce and Professional Studies and a minor in Psychology, Brittany combines strategic thinking with a deep understanding of people and operations.

    Before her current role, Brittany owned and operated a licensed day and child care center, where she managed budgeting, payroll, compliance, and daily operations. She now owns and operates a beauty salon, applying her entrepreneurial skills to lead with efficiency, innovation, and integrity.

    Brittany is passionate about empowering others through education, professional development, and supportive services-values that align closely with the mission of PSA. As Treasurer, she is committed to ensuring transparent, responsible financial stewardship that helps sustain and grow the organization's impact.

  • Justine Peña-Advocate

    Justine Pena is a native of Virginia Beach, VA. She currently possess a Bachelors degree in Applied Behavioral Science & a Masters degree in Education with a specialization in Family & Community. Both were received from Ashford University.

    Justine is a realtor in the Hampton Roads area & she loves to play the flute in her spare time. She is also a volunteer for her church “Wave”. Her passion for helping others through her own experience has led her to be an advocate for Purple Service Announcement. She often says, “it’s an alignment with my own heart’s passion”.

    She believes that her passion is fundamental to others & we only keep what we have, by giving it away!
